Super Eagles begin training ahead of AFCON qualifier against Sierra Lone

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr revealed that he has not been paid for eight months as the team preparing to face Central Africa Republic in two crucial 2022 World Cup qualifiers this week.

Score Nigeria reports, Rohr is on a reduced monthly salary of $45,000 and it is from there that he pays the team’s video analyst, chief scout as well as fitness and goalkeeper trainers.

Top officials have continued to promise that the backlog of salaries will be cleared soon.

Should he be lucky to get paid, he will get his cash in Naira.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had previously announced that national team coaches will no longer be owed salaries because a sponsor has been got to take care of this.

Rohr’s contract runs till June 2022.

He has been handed a mandate to win the 2021 AFCON to be played in Cameroon in January before he could stay on the job
