Cole Palmer was on the wrong end of a nasty tackle late in the game as Chelsea were held to a draw by Manchester United at the weekend.
The England international was caught high by Lisandro Martinez, who somehow escaped a red card for the incident.
Dermot Gallagher somehow made a case to defend the referee’s decision, however Chelsea have been left to sweat on his fitness ahead of their next big game in the Premier League.

The Blues sent Palmer for a scan after the game, the results of which are yet to be heard.
Even though he is one of the first team players who was not named in the squad for the Conference League group stages this season, he would have been expected to be seen in training alongside fellow excluded stars Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana.
Cole Palmer not seen in Chelsea training
However, pictures on the 5th Stand app do not show Palmer in training during yesterday’s session, raising doubt that he could be fit enough to start against the Gunners on Sunday.
Enzo Maresca will likely be worried about his side going forwards without their most creative player. They would also be missing their most prolific scorer at the same time.
If Palmer is not fit, there could be a chance for someone who has been on the fringes to finally make an impact on the side this season.
Joao Felix could replace injured Cole Palmer
Joao Felix has had to wait patiently for his Chelsea career to kick into gear after rejoining the club. He is yet to start in the Premier League.
However, Felix looks the best possible replacement for Palmer in the Number 10 role, and will be looking to leave no doubt in the manager’s mind that he is the man he should look to when he starts tomorrow night in the Conference League against Noah.
