Nigeria vs Libya AFCON Qualifier: Match Preview, Team News, Lineups, Kick-Off Time, Date & Venue

The 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria's Super Eagles and Libya's Mediterranean Knights is set to take place at Uyo’s Akwa Ibom Stadium.

As the teams approach the third matchday, Nigeria sits comfortably at the top of Group D, having secured a strong start to their qualifying campaign. Libya, meanwhile, lingers at the bottom of the standings with only one point from two matches.

Match Preview

Nigeria's Super Eagles are in great form, remaining undefeated in their first two matches.

They opened their campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Benin Republic, followed by a goalless draw against Rwanda.

This solid run has positioned Nigeria as a favorite to secure qualification for the 2025 AFCON.

Libya, on the other hand, has faced challenges throughout their qualifiers.

They managed a 1-1 draw against Rwanda in their first match but suffered a defeat in their second outing against Benin. The Mediterranean Knights are struggling to find momentum and are under pressure to perform in Uyo.

The Super Eagles will be looking to maintain their dominance over Libya, as history favors the Nigerian side in their previous encounters.

While the Mediterranean Knights aim for at least a draw, Nigeria will be without their star striker, Victor Osimhen, who has been in exceptional form since joining Galatasaray.

Officials for Nigeria vs Libya

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Malawian officiating team for this crucial qualifier.
