Enzo Maresca offers tactical insight to give Chelsea victory over Liverpool at Anfield

Enzo Maresca is preparing for what may be his most challenging clash as Chelsea manager as they face Liverpool this Sunday.

The Blues, currently sitting fourth with 14 points from a possible 21, remain unbeaten since the season's opening day. Liverpool top the table.

Maresca has already garnered attention for his bold management.

"Absolutely. As you said it’s a nice environment. Anfield is fantastic, but we’re going to try and go there, play our football and try to get points," Maresca shared during a recent interview with Stadium Astro.

Despite his inexperience in the Premier League, Maresca's start has been impressive, even earning him the Premier League Manager of the Month for September.

Chelsea's young team, including players like Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson, will need to rise to the occasion, especially given the club's recent struggles against Liverpool.

They haven't managed a win in their last nine meetings and haven't tasted victory at Anfield since 2021.

Maresca has shown no fear in sticking to his tactical philosophy, aiming to keep the team proactive and aggressive on the pitch.

"We try always. As I said, sometimes we plan the game but also the other team plans, so sometimes you struggle a little bit more, sometimes not. But in the end, it’s important, the intention of the team has to be the same," Maresca explained.

Chelsea’s attacking prowess has been evident this season, and despite the intimidating atmosphere at Anfield, the young side under Maresca seems ready to meet the challenge head-on.

With Liverpool in excellent form, Sunday’s match is expected to be a true test of Chelsea's resolve.
