Chelsea star speaks on his future amid PSG link

Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku has addressed speculation surrounding his future, amid reported interest from former club Paris Saint-Germain, according to Metro. The 26-year-old France international insisted no official approach has been made.

Nkunku, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £52 million in summer 2023, has impressed with seven goals in 11 games. His performances have sparked rumors of a potential return to PSG, where he began his career.

"PSG remains a big club, but there has not been one approach," Nkunku told French outlet Telefoot. His comments aim to quell transfer speculation, emphasizing his commitment to Chelsea.

Nkunku's focus on the Blues is reinforced by his contract, which runs until June 30, 2029. He has made 25 appearances for Chelsea, competing with Nicolas Jackson for game time.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca acknowledged the challenge of fitting Nkunku and Jackson into the same lineup. "The problem is the defensive balance," Maresca explained. "We can think to play with Nicolas, Christo, Joao, Cole Palmer, Noni [Madueke] – fantastic! But then who is defending?"

As Chelsea prepares to face Liverpool on Sunday, Nkunku's priorities remain clear. "I'm focused on the season, and we'll see what happens," he hinted.

While Nkunku's statement provides clarity, the transfer landscape can change rapidly. PSG's intentions and Chelsea's stance on his future will be closely watched.
