Chelsea receive boost as some key players recovered from injury

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has received a welcome boost ahead of the weekend's match against West Ham, as four players have returned to training after missing the win at Bournemouth due to injury and illness, according to Metro.

Midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who missed the match due to illness, were back on the training field on Monday, alongside Romeo Lavia and Malo Gusto, who had been sidelined with thigh injuries.

The return of the quartet is a significant boost to Chelsea's squad depth, with only England international Reece James currently sidelined. James is expected to return by the end of the month, leaving Maresca with a near-full strength squad to choose from.

Jadon Sancho, who made his debut for the club at Bournemouth, was not training with the group on Monday, instead working individually to build his fitness. The on-loan Manchester United winger impressed off the bench against the Cherries and will hope to be in action again this weekend.

Maresca's squad is shaping up well ahead of the match against West Ham, with the return of Fernandez, Dewsbury-Hall, Lavia, and Gusto providing a timely boost. With James expected back soon, Chelsea's injury woes appear to be easing, leaving Maresca to focus on building momentum and securing a strong start to the season.
