Chelsea new stadium all you need to know as blues set to depart Stamford Bridge

The Earl's Court Development Company (ECDC) has firmly denied rumors that Chelsea Football Club are planning to relocate to a site near Earl's Court, according to Football.London.

Recent reports had suggested that the club was considering building a new £500 million stadium due to difficulties in expanding their current home at Stamford Bridge, which holds 42,000 spectators.

The speculation, originally published by The Guardian, indicated that Chelsea had entered talks with Transport for London and Delancey, a property developer, regarding the possible move.

However, ECDC responded swiftly to dispel these claims. "There is no plan within our plans for Chelsea FC to relocate to the Earl's Court site," the company said in a statement.

ECDC emphasized that their focus remains on a mixed-use development in the area, prioritizing housing, jobs, and public spaces.

"We have a fully detailed design, shortly to be registered with both local authorities... This will see development commence in 2026 with the first residents and occupiers moving in from 2030."

While the development company made clear that no discussions had taken place, The Guardian also reported that Chelsea has not ruled out remaining at Stamford Bridge, which has been the club's home since 1905.

However, expanding the stadium presents challenges, including its proximity to a tube line. According to football.london, the club continues to explore all available options for their future stadium plans.
