What Enzo Maresca said to Marc Guiu after unbelievable missed

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has revealed his conversation with 18-year-old Marc Guiu after embarrassing miss in the Blues' 2-0 win over Servette in the Conference League playoff.

Guiu, who was making his first start for the club, had a golden opportunity to score early on but his weak effort was saved by the Servette goalkeeper. The miss was a disappointing moment for the Spaniard, who struggled to get into the game afterwards and was eventually replaced by Cole Palmer in the 57th minute.

However, Maresca was quick to support Guiu and praised his approach without the ball. "I said to him that he probably doesn't like easy goals, he likes difficult goals!" Maresca joked. "For me, it is very normal. He is [born in] 2006. He is the youngest one in the squad. The way he works off the ball, he runs a lot, he presses. It doesn't matter, he is going to score."

Maresca's comments highlight his positive approach to managing young players and his willingness to give them opportunities despite their mistakes. The Italian tactician also expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, despite a struggling first half.

Chelsea's win over Servette was secured through a penalty from Christopher Nkunku and a second goal from substitute Noni Madueke. The Blues will now face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday before playing the second leg against Servette in Switzerland next week.

Maresca's conversation with Guiu demonstrates his focus on developing young talent and creating a positive team environment. Despite the embarrassing miss, Guiu's work rate and approach without the ball were praised by the manager, suggesting that he has a bright future at the club.
