 Chelsea supporters got their first look at their side at Stamford Bridge yesterday as the Blues rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan.

It was the first chance for fans to see some of their new signings in action, with many impressed with the display of Renato Veiga in the second half.

Despite all the new players for the supporters to get behind, it looked as if they were still keen to show their admiration for a former Blue at the same time.

Chelsea fans chant for Thiago Silva

Chants continued to ring around Stamford Bridge for Thiago Silva, despite him leaving earlier this summer at the expiration of his contract.

The Brazilian was an extremely popular figure in West London during his tenure at the club, and it looks as if that admiration is going to continue going forwards.

After Instagram account ‘Just_CFC’ posted that supporters were chanting about Silva during their 1-1 draw, the defender took to the comments to respond.

He simply said: “I love you.”

Tosin Adarabioyo pushing to replace Silva

Replacing Silva was always going to prove a difficult task for the Blues, and the only central defender they have added to their ranks so far is Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.

Despite the lack of transfer fee, Adarabioyo has impressed those at the club in his first pre-season campaign, and is certainly competing for a start at the back when their Premier League campaign gets underway against Manchester City on Sunday.

His place in the side is likely to be competed for by Wesley Fofana, who has come through pre-season unscathed after not featuring at all last season.

One defender who will certainly not be present for that game is Reece James, with his suspension to start the season being added to by more injury worries concerning his hamstring.

This will almost certainly see Malo Gusto start after his very impressive pre-season campaign.
