Chelsea are running out of time to trim their bloated squad with less than a fortnight until the summer window slams shut. The Blues have far too many players in the dressing room and could benefit from reducing the size of their squad over the coming days.
Enzo Maresca is already feeling the impact of having too many players at his disposal after just one game of the new Premier League season. The situation with Raheem Sterling is far from ideal but Chelsea have caused this mess for themselves with their ridiculous transfer strategy.
It leaves the Blues needing to trim their squad to avoid the risk of further discontent within the camp. However, there is not much time for Chelsea to flog their fringe players with the transfer window set to close before the end of next week.
Express Sport takes a look at the dream scenario for Chelsea over the next few days....

Sterling leaves to end statement saga
Only time will tell if there is any way back for Sterling after his representatives publicly demanded showdown talks with Chelsea's hierarchy. If they are not planning to use him, it would make sense to sell with a number of clubs said to be waiting in the wings.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, there is a chance of Sterling moving to Juventus in a swap deal involving Federico Chiesa. He has also been linked with Napoli but it remains to be seen if he will be prepared to move abroad for the first time in his career.
Madueke joins Newcastle for £50m
Noni Madueke has struggled to kick on at Chelsea since joining from PSV Eindhoven last summer. With the likes of Pedro Neto and Joao Felix arriving this summer, he will be pushed further down the pecking order with a move elsewhere able to suit all parties.
Newcastle have been credited with an interest in Madueke and it is no secret that they have plenty of cash at their disposal. A move for around £50million would be great business for Chelsea but there is no guarantee the Magpies will be prepared to pay that much.
Broja signs for Premier League rivals
It seems clear that Armando Broja does not have a future at Chelsea with Enzo Maresca apparently happy to let him leave. Ipswich Town are said to be in talks over a potential move as the Tractor Boys look to improve their front line before the window slams shut.
Chelsea are believed to be pushing for Broja to make a permanent exit with an asking price in the region of £30m having been mooted. Ipswich, however, will be eager to drive that price down in the knowledge that Chelsea are not exactly in the best position to negotiate.
Five other players leave
Several other Chelsea players have also been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the window. Trevoh Chalobah has reportedly been ostracised from the first-team group and is said to have emerged as a target for Crystal Palace.
Conor Gallagher looks set to join Atletico Madrid as part of the deal which will see Joao Felix return to west London. The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ben Chilwell and Djordje Petrovic have also been linked with exits ahead of next week's all-important deadline
