Fabrizio Romano reports latest transfer update on Victor Osimhen move to Chelsea

Chelsea's search for a striker continues, with the club seeking a new talisman to complement Nicolas Jackson ahead of a challenging season. However, Victor Osimhen, a target for the Blues, is unlikely to join without significant developments. Despite interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Osimhen's situation remains unchanged, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano refuted claims that Chelsea are accelerating a deal for Osimhen, stating, "There are no changes. Nothing is happening today." Osimhen prefers a permanent move, not a loan, which complicates Chelsea's pursuit.

With David Datro Fofana and Armando Broja potentially leaving, Chelsea need a striker to support Jackson. Christopher Nkunku could play as a false nine, but it's not an ideal solution. Marc Guiu is too young to be relied upon, and a potential deal for Samuel Omorodion is uncertain.

Osimhen would be an excellent signing, but his loan deal would only provide temporary relief. Chelsea's transfer team would need to reassess their striker options next season, considering the club's excessive player roster and need to sell players to fund new signings.
