When will Chelsea star, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall make debut

Chelsea have received an injury boost in their preparations for the new season, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall set to return from an ankle problem.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City at the start of the month, has missed his side’s first two games of pre-season because of injury.

However, Dewsbury-Hall hasn’t been struggling with anything serious and is now set to return to action in a boost to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

The Blues have got off to a bad start in their pre-season tour of the United States, drawing 2-2 with Wrexham before their 4-1 loss against Scottish champions Celtic.

Next up for Chelsea is another friendly versus Mexican outfit Club America, who have already started their domestic campaign.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall debut imminent

Chelsea fans should get to see Dewsbury-Hall put on the club’s shirt for the first time very soon.

According to The Athletic, having seemingly recovered from his ankle injury, the 25-year-old could now make his unofficial debut for the Blues when they take on Club America in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Whether Dewsbury-Hall plays or not, Maresca will be looking for a much better performance than the one he saw against Celtic.

Maresca highlighted Chelsea’s defensive line as one issue in that match, so that will be something to pay attention to during the Club America game.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall can improve Chelsea’s midfield

Chelsea’s midfield really struggled in their defeat to Celtic over the weekend, even with Reece James inverting inside.

Romeo Lavia’s passing was all over the place, for example, though you do not want to be too harsh on the Belgian given his lack of football over the last year.

Nevertheless, having Dewsbury-Hall available is good news. The Englishman can bring a lot to the Blues’ midfield.

Dewsbury-Hall is an energetic box-to-box midfielder who loves getting forward. Speaking to Chelsea’s official website following his move to Stamford Bridge, he said: “I’m a box-to-box midfielder. I am somebody who likes to attack, drive at defenders and make things happen with goals and assists.”

Maresca will be hoping that the former Leicester man can stay fit once the new season begins.
