Chelsea have announced a big 28-man squad to take to the USA for the 2024 pre-season friendly matches ahead of the 2024/25 season.
But some fans were surprised that goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic wasn’t in the squad. Neither was the summer signing Omari Kellyman.
Well, Nizaar Kinsella claims that is currently doing rehab work to recover from an injury he picked up last season. The officials felt that it was better for him not to travel to the USA.
Petrovic is also suffering from a minor injury, which is why he isn’t in the squad. But the goalkeeper is expected to travel to the USA as soon as he’s recovered from his issue.
Chelsea have also controversially opted to leave Trevoh Chalobah at home as they aim to push him out of the club.
The Blues have also stated that players who progressed deep in the Euro 2024 and Copa America knockouts will join the squad later on.
