Chelsea-linked Julian Alvarez has reportedly rejected a new contract at Manchester City and asked to leave the club this transfer window.
With CHELSEA looking to add a new striker to that attack over the next few months – there has been some shock reports that the Blues could make a move for Alvarez at some point this transfer window.
Despite being a big part of that Man City side – it has been claimed that Alvarez wants more game time at the club and would be open to a move away if Pep Guardiola cannot give him what he wants.
However – it seemed that Man City will not be selling the striker this summer as Guardiola did not want to see the forward depart the club – but El Chiringuito claims that the Argentine forward has ‘shocked’ the English champions with his demands after only joining in 2022.
He is also said to have asked City for a ‘logical’ asking price for potential buyers
Alvarez has scored 36 goals in two seasons since joining Pep Guardiola’s team
Should Chelsea sign Alvarez?
He is a very good striker – a very good option to come off the bench – but he is not the player that CHELSEA needs to bang in goals on a weekly basis – he would really struggle at the Blues.
The best thing for him right now is to stay put – it could be a mistake to move away from arguably one of the best sides in the game right now.
However – if the reports are true and he has asked for a move away from Man City – there will surely be a lot of interest over the next few weeks.
