Nicolas Jackson sends transfer message to Victor Osimhen amid Chelsea move

Nicolas Jackson appears to have given Chelsea his seal of approval to his club's bid to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. The Blues are scouring the transfer market for a new striker this summer, having seen bids for Newcastle's Alexander Isak and Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion turned down.

Now, they have been linked with a big money move for the in-demand Nigerian international, with reports suggesting Romelu Lukaku could be used as leverage as part of the deal.

The Athletic claims the Belgian forward will reunite with former Blues boss Antonio Conte in a permanent deal, while Osimhen talks centre around a loan deal with an option to buy. Lukaku enjoyed his best spell in front of goal under the Italian head coach, scoring 34 and 30 goals in 2019-20 and 2020-21 during their time at Inter Milan.

Osimhen's future at Napoli remains a doubt with Chelsea said to be in talks over a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The talismanic forward has scored an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances for Gli Azzurri since joining from Lille in July 2020.

However, Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda blasted the reports. He tweeted: "I read about ‘fantasy exchanges’ with Victor… as if he was a package to be delivered quickly. This package is the top scorer of the third Scudetto in the history of Napoli. Respect and stop fake news!"

Nevertheless, Jackson appears to be keen at the prospect of linking up with Osimhen. The forward has taken to Instagram to like a post, linking Chelsea with a move for Osimhen, seemingly given the transfer his seal of approval.

A potential move to Stamford Bridge for the Super Eagles star would provide competition for Jackson up front. The Senegalese striker scored 17 goals in 44 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side last season and will be hoping to kick on under new boss Enzo Maresca.
