I need regular play time: Chelsea target hint on possible rejection

Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has dropped a hint that he may reject a potential move to Chelsea, citing his need for regular game time, according to Sportskeeda. The 22-year-old Brazilian has been linked to the Blues, but in a recent interview, he expressed his desire to stay at Forest and continue playing regularly.

Murillo, who joined Forest from Corinthians in a £10 million deal last summer, has established himself as a crucial first-team starter at the City Ground. He helped his side avoid relegation from the Premier League last season and has contributed two assists in 36 outings for the club.

When asked about his future, Murillo told The Telegraph: "I need regular game time and really feel that with Forest, I'm in the best place for my career at the moment. Staying here for another season will enable me to mature as a player and eventually become better prepared if the chance ever comes to play at another level one day."

Murillo's comments suggest that he may prioritize game time over a potential move to Chelsea, where he may face stiff competition for a starting spot. The Blues currently have seven center-backs in their squad, including Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, and summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo.

While Murillo's dream is to play in the Champions League, he is focused on doing his best for Forest and is not tempted by the prospect of sitting on the bench at a bigger club. "Of course, I want to eventually play in the Champions League," he said. "But I've been focusing on my work 100 per cent and I want to do my best. Forest is a massive club in its own right and I feel good here."

Chelsea's interest in Murillo remains unclear, but the defender's comments suggest that he may not be swayed by the prospect of a move to Stamford Bridge.
