'God forbid' - I'm not injured Romeo Lavia open up

It can be tough to separate real news from fake news in this great age of social media, but presumably we can trust the word of the man himself, Roméo Lavia.

On Saturday, rumors spread on Twitter that the young midfielder has picked yet another injury. This rumor, which claimed that the injury occured in a closed-doors friendly against Leeds United, found fertile ground and spread like a weed, eventually coming to the attention of Lavia as well.

And so the 20-year-old took to social media as well, to confirm that he is indeed not injured.

So that’s great (real) news indeed. Lavia spent almost all of last year injured (ankle, hamstring), getting hurt in his (probably premature) comeback attempt in late December, which would prove his only appearance for his maiden Chelsea season.

But like several others who were battling similar situations last year, Lavia has joined preseason training and is working towards making the impact we have envisioned for him.

In his statement

God Forbid. ❌
