The latest Chelsea transfer news as Enzo Maresca could be eyeing more incomings between now and next month's August deadline.
It has been a busy transfer window for Chelsea so far as the club prepare for the first season under the guidance of new head coach Enzo Maresca.
The Blues have already added five new faces to the squad with Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Renato Veiga, Omari Kellyman, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all arriving. There’s also been transfers away from the club for Omari Hutchinson, Lewis Hall, Ian Maatsen and Michael Golding.
It seems it’s not going to get any quieter for the club as the transfer window ticks along. Maresca will be taking his squad on pre-season tour to America this week, but new players could still join up with the squad while preparations continue.
Here’s a look at some of the deals in terms of incomings that the Blues could possibly seal in the next seven days.
Dani Olmo
Chelsea are one of the teams to be credited with an interest in the Spain and Red Bull Leipzig midfielder this summer. He did have a release clause of around £50 million in his contract but that has since expired.
It has though been reported that despite the clause running out, Leipzig have put a similar asking price on Olmo’s head. It means Chelsea could still potentially make a move this week and still pay the same price they would have before.
For Chelsea, after the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, midfield may not be a priority for the rest of the window. But should there be any sales, for example, Conor Gallagher, then that could possibly lead to them dipping back into the market.
Andreas Pereira
Somebody else who has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Gallagher is Fulham’s Andreas Pereira. Reports in Brazil claim that Chelsea are preparing an offer of between £30 and £35 million.
It also adds that both Fulham have agreed that the player will be allowed to leave Craven Cottage this summer. That could therefore potentially make a transfer quick and easy to do.
Andriy Lunin
Goalkeeper is a key position in Maresca’s system and despite it being said earlier in the summer that the Italian was happy with Robert Sanchez, it is now reported that the Blues are looking to add another new goalkeeper. Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin has emerged as an option.
Something that could benefit Chelsea in a potential move is Kepa Arrizabalaga's success at Real Madrid last season. The goalkeeper spent the campaign on loan with the club and is said to be keen on a move back, meaning he could be part of a swap deal.
Caleb Wiley
Wiley is a player who has been close to a transfer to Stamford Bridge over the last few weeks. Chelsea reached an agreement with Atlanta United earlier in the month. It is reported that he will sign a seven-year contract before going on loan to Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.
Aaron Anselmino
Anselmino is another player who is expected to join Chelsea, after an agreement was reached with Boca Juniors over a £17 million transfer for the full-back. There has also been talk that he would join Strasbourg on loan, but a decision over his short-term future is yet to be made.
