Chelsea player finally spotted in training

Chelsea players are beginning to step up their pre-season training ahead of the upcoming tour of the United States.

Enzo Maresca has been given the chance to take a look at a large amount of the players available to him in order to see who he can rely on when the season gets underway.

He seems to have had a large amount of advice to give the player despite not being there long. Maresca was heard shouting instructions to Noni Madueke as he looks to mold the players into his shape.

A number of youngsters at the club have been looking to take their chance as part of the training sessions. Kiano Dyer is one player who took part from the very start.

A lot of them will be hoping that they do enough to put themselves in the plans for next season, and could well achieve this with the upcoming tour across the pond.

Renato Veiga spotted in Chelsea training

One player who this applies to is new signing Renato Veiga, with Maresca deciding his future off the back of how he does in pre-season.

Pictures on the official Chelsea website have shown the new signing in training for the first time since joining.

There is plenty of excitement over what the youngster can bring the club following his move. He was described as ‘excellent’ in the past by a former manager.

Veiga seen as an inverted left-back

His presence as a left-back who loves to invert seems to fit exactly what the new manager is looking to do, and this will likely be the responsibility given to Marc Cucurella at the start of the season.

The Spaniard was brilliant as his country went on to win Euro 2024, and his individual form suggested he should remain firmly at the front of the thinking at Stamford Bridge.

All of this talk could spell bad news for current vice-captain Ben Chilwell, who faces a battle to break back into the first team this season.
