Chelsea in talks to sign €35m rated Serie A winger

New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reportedly asked his employers to sign a new winger for him as he looks to get ready for the new season.

The Italian tactician led Leicester City back to the Premier League, winning the English Championship in the process. His achievements with the East Midland club landed him a much higher place in West London.

However, he has failed to replicate his Leicester City charms with Chelsea during their pre-season games this far, drawing to Wrexham and then losing to Celtic in a disappointing 4-1 destruction. However, it is too early to judge him, but the early signs are calling for drastic measures.

Looking for solutions to his problems at the moment, the gaffer has reportedly asked Chelsea board to sign a new wide player for him.

According to Team Talk, Maresca wants Chelsea to get Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa and have opened talks for him.

As revealed in the report, Chiesa is considered an upgrade on Raheem Sterling who might be reduced to bench duties in the upcoming season.

To further fuel this talk, there are reports that Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani is currently in London, but Daiy Mail has claimed that the agent's business in London remains unknown.

However, there are rumours that he hopes to hold talks with several Premier League clubs as he looks to find a suitable club for his client.

Federico Chiesa is widely expected to leave Juventus this summer as the two parties couldn't come to any sort of agreement regarding his contract extension. Chiesa's current deal will expire next summer, and the Bianconeri are finding it difficult to allow him leave for free next summer.

No certain amount has been mentioned yet in terms of Juventus transfer fee demands, but Transfermarkt rates the Italy international as a €35m star. Should his asking price be within that range, it wouldn't be a difficult amount for the Blues to pay.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen what the outcome will be, but the player’s future will surely be sorted before the end of the summer.
