The versatile defender penned a contract extension with Chelsea before heading to the Signal Iduna Park last summer, in what proved to be a very successful loan spell. Dortmund are therefore keen to retain the services of the left-back but are hoping to negotiate a deal with the Blues for less than his £35m release clause, with an opening offer set to be lodged soon.
