Three clubs in race sign Chelsea star

One of Chelsea big boys is drawing a lot of interest at the moment, with an exit deal looking very likely for the England star.

Trying to balance their books this summer, Chelsea are said to be willing to part ways with some of their players in other to raise funds following an extravagant spending last summer.

The Blues were one of the highest spenders during the last summer transfer window, but are carefully carrying out their business this time so as not to incure wrath of financial fair play.

One player who the club is willing to sell is Connor Gallagher. The England midfielder is seriously linked to with a move to Aston Villa, with Unai Emery's side already in talks with Conor Gallagher and Chelsea.

However, MAIL SPORTS reports that Aston Villa are no longer the only ones ready to strike a deal for Gallagher, as Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid are now in the mix for his signature.

The midfielder, who has skippered the Blues for much of the season, is entering the final 12 months of his deal with no new contract imminent.

The sale of the 24-year-old would represent pure profit for the club as he is a homegrown player.

The report claims that Tottenham are prepared to rival Villa with a bid of up to £50m for the midfielder - who could see his value increased should he have a strong performance at Euro 2024.

Chelsea and Villa have negotiated on several deals in recent years which has led to a healthy relationship between the two clubs. Going back several seasons Ross Barkley spent a year on loan at Villa Park and more recently Carney Chukwuemeka made a move down to London.
