Chelsea urge to sign £85m versatile player

Chelsea have already snapped a centre-back this summer, as the Blues have signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham.

Nevertheless, journalist Jack Drury is urging Chelsea to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro, who’s valued at £85million by the French club.

Drury believes Yoro should be made a priority by the Chelsea board, despite the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo.

“It has been claimed in the past too that they see the youngster as the perfect player for their project, even if his reported transfer fee is set to be around £85m,” writes Drury.

“Lille president Olivier Letang has confirmed that Yoro is allowed to leave this summer, and this should set alarm bells ringing at Stamford Bridge.

“With there being just a year left on his current contract too, there is a brilliant chance that they are able to negotiate the fee they need to pay down to a far more manageable amount.

“They are not the only top side interested in the youngster, however the signing would be a real statement that they are ready to sign players who are ready to feature in the near future as well as years down the line at Stamford Bridge.”

Yoro has impressed at Lille, and is attracting massive interest from other top sides.
