Chelsea star, Moises Caicedo wins man of the match award


 The 17-year-old Kendry Páez shone in Ecuador's 3-1 victory over Jamaica on Wednesday night in the Copa America.

Páez scored during first-half stoppage time, and Alan Minda added another goal late in the match, securing Ecuador's first Copa America win since a 4-0 triumph over Haiti in 2016, breaking an eight-game winless streak.

Jamaica, now winless in the tournament, became the first team to be eliminated after Venezuela defeated Mexico 1-0 later on Wednesday.

The match began with an own goal by Jamaica's Kasey Palmer in the 13th minute, giving Ecuador an early lead.

Páez extended the lead to 2-0 with a penalty kick in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time.

Jamaica’s Michail Antonio scored in the 54th minute.

However, Alan Minda sealed Ecuador's victory with a goal in the first minute of second-half stoppage time.

Venezuela's win over Mexico secured their place in the quarterfinals with six points, while Ecuador and Mexico each have three points.

Ecuador will face Mexico in their final Group B match in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, while Jamaica will take on Venezuela.

After the completion of the match, Chelsea Midfielder, Moises Caicedo was named the man of the match after his brilliant performance against Jamaica.

The defensive minded player featured for 90 minutes, created 3 chances, had two shots, recorded 89% pass accuracy along with making four recoveries and one block.
