Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca calls Ian Maatsen back to the team

Chelsea are looking to raise some money for their summer business and are reportedly willing to let one of their defender leave this summer.

The Blues spent a lot of money last seasons and will need to balance their books before they can make further big signings, so as not to be caught by the Premier league profit and sustainability rules.

A lot of stars have been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with the likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Cucurella and Connor Gallagher all linked with a move to some big clubs.

However, this post is about Ian Maatsen who was on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season and is now wanted by the club on a permanent deal.

However, the Blues have stamped a transfer fee of £35m on him, which is the release clause in his contract with the club. Dortmund will now need to meet that amount if they really want to sign the youngster.

MAIL SPORTS have reported the German side do not have first option to buy on-loan Dutch defender Ian Maatsen, with Chelsea's £35m release clause open to any clubs interested in the 22-year-old left-back.

Having impressed at Dortmund, The Blues are expecting so many clubs to step in for his signature.
