Chelsea make new transfer offer shortly after announcing Willian

Chelsea are close to making another signing with a new wonderkid defender set to join Enzo Maresca at Chelsea as he aims to reshape his squad at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have reportedly submitted a bid for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino. The bid is said to be in the region or £13m to £14m as per Argentine journalist Uriel Iugt.

The 19-year-old is a growing influence in Argentina and is tipped for greatness. He made his first-team debut a year ago having come up through Boca's academy.

Though Anselmino has only made 10 senior appearances for Boca thus far - thanks to the series of injuries that has contributed to his absence, the youngster is high regarded by Boca Juniors president and Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme.

Speaking to the media about Anselmino, Riquelme said - via Metro UK: "He has developed a lot. With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs."

The report has also claimed that Chelsea wants him to sign a four-year deal and would quickly integrate him into the first team setup.

Furthermore, Claro Sport has suggested that Boca are willing to accept the bid made for the defender by Chelsea and are looking forward to finalising the deal as soon as possible.
