Chelsea are threatening to derail one of West Ham United’s most exciting summer transfer window plans.
The summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, and the same can be said for new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
Lopetegui certainly has more work on his hands at the London Stadium than Maresca does at Stamford Bridge though.
There is set to be a big player exodus from the London Stadium before the start of next season, so Lopetegui will have to make a whole host of new signings.
The 57-year-old apparently has six new signings planned for the Hammers, but my gut feeling is that he will need to make at least two more than that.
One area in particular where Lopetegui needs to strengthen is his left wing department. Said Benrahma will join Lyon on a permanent deal this summer and as things stand, we haven’t got a natural left-sided attacker.
The perfect upgrade on Benrahma is out there waiting for us but Chelsea could be set to spoil the party…

Chelsea could hijack West Ham’s summer transfer window move
So, the Hammers face a very big battle on our hands this summer then.
That’s because one of Lopetegui’s key transfer targets is now being lined up by one of our far richer rivals.
According to a report from the Sun, Chelsea are threatening to hijack West Ham’s move to sign Leeds ace Crysencio Summerville this summer – a player the Hammers have been linked with for months now.
The 22-year-old would be absolutely perfect for us, so Chelsea’s interest in signing him is far from ideal.
Described by TEAMtalk as ‘unstoppable’ Summerville is a truly top-class talent.
A right-footed left winger, Summerville bagged 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Leeds this season just gone (Transfermarkt).
He is an exceptionally talented young player, has pace to burn and backs up his blistering speed with real output.
I would absolutely love Summerville at West Ham but unfortunately for us, Chelsea are moving into place to sign the Leeds winger in the summer transfer window.
I just don’t see how we will be able to compete financially with the west London outfit. The Blues have European football on offer as well, so I can only see one outcome here, and that’s Summerville moving to Stamford Bridge.
