Palmer reveals what Chelsea Stars said in dressing room after penalty controversy against Everton

Cole Palmer has opened up on the intriguing penalty dispute that briefly clouded the team's triumph, according to Metro.

Amidst the euphoria of their stellar performance, Chelsea's dressing room atmosphere was described by Palmer as filled with laughter and banter, despite the tense moment on the pitch.

Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea showed their most formidable performance of the season, inching closer to Manchester United in the league standings.

With only three points now separating them from the top spot and a game in hand, the prospect of securing European football at Stamford Bridge next season looms large.

Palmer, the standout performer of the match, further cemented his status as the man of the moment by netting an impressive four goals.

This remarkable feat brought him within touching distance of Erling Haaland in the Golden Boot race.

However, Palmer's goal-scoring prowess was momentarily overshadowed by the penalty controversy that happened during the match.

Prior to Palmer confidently converting from the spot for his fourth goal, a heated exchange ensued between him and teammate Noni Madueke, who also vied for the opportunity to take the penalty.

Reflecting on the incident post-match, Palmer said;

"Other players wanted to take it which is understandable, the game is 4-0 but I’m the penalty taker and I wanted to take it and eventually I took it.

‘I think we are just trying to show everyone wants to take responsibility maybe it was a bit over the top the argument but everyone wants to just win & help.

"It's nothing major, we were laughing and joking about it. Palmer said.
