Petr Cech reveals most annoying things about Chelsea

Chelsea appointed Petr Cech as technical and performance advisor back in 2019

He left the role after Chelsea were taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital and has now shared on The Obi One Podcast what he hated about the role.

During his time as technical and performance advisor, Petr Cech was involved in the loan moves of some players.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper recently revealed that he informed Conor Gallagher that he had to join Crystal Palace for the 2021/22 season, something the midfielder was not initially happy about.

Gallagher has since returned to Chelsea and become a key player under Mauricio Pochettino. He has made 36 appearances in all competitions this term.

Cech says his role at Chelsea was quite time consuming, which he did not like.

“What I didn’t like was the time demand,” the retired Czech Republic international said. “You are 24/7, constantly on your phone.

“You leave your emails without any break and some days you work in the training ground and think okay quiet day and then everything goes crazy at 11pm.”

Chelsea need someone like Petr Cech at the club again

While Cech may not have liked everything about his advisor role at Chelsea, the thing is, the club probably need an individual like him right now.

Cech is someone who understands both Chelsea and football as a whole.

He is also someone who can connect with the fans at a period of time where they seem to be growing frustrated with the owners and disillusioned with the direction the club are heading in under them.

Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have chosen Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley to be the football brains at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea are really yet to benefit from their appointments. Despite the large recruitment drive under them, the Blues still remain in the bottom half of the table
