What Pochettino did after walking past Todd Boehly

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino had to climb to the top of Wembley today to collect his losers medal.

There awaited Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, who were in attendance to watch the Blues’ lose 1-0 to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

However, while Mauricio Pochettino greeted Eghbali, he appeared to miss Boehly and not shake his hand in a video that is now circulating on X.

There was probably no malice behind it, with the Argentine perhaps not focusing and realising who it actually was. You could not blame him after his side’s disappointing defeat.

Can Mauricio Pochettino recover from this defeat?

You have to start fearing for Pochettino again after Chelsea’s loss.

With the club performing so poorly in the Premier League, winning the Carabao Cup would have eased some of the pressure on him.

However, the Blues have now missed out on the trophy. And not only have they missed out on it, but they have missed in a very disappointing manner.

Chelsea went up against a Liverpool team who have been hit by an injury crisis but were still the inferior side for a lot of the game, especially in extra time despite Jurgen Klopp having to bring on serval young players

It is not as if Pochettino’s men went toe-to-toe with a full strength Liverpool side and narrowly lost. They were beaten by the Reds’ fringe players and youngsters, even being dominated in extra time in periods.

Pochettino only signed a two-year contract when he joined Chelsea. Honestly, it will now not be a surprise if the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur manager lost his job.

With the team not having much to play for, though, Boehly and Co can probably afford to wait until the end of the season before making any big decisions. Chelsea are still at least in the FA Cup, taking on Leeds United on Wednesday
