Chelsea consider big money transfer offer to sign 27-year-old striker

Without much doubts, Chelsea football club will aim towards signing a new prolific striker to improve their current squad when the forthcoming January transfer window opens.

Do remember that the West London club were very much active during the summer transfer window as they confirmed the arrivals of several first-team players including Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

However, Christopher Nkunku has been out of the team since the start of the season while the likes of Noni Madueke, Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson are yet to hit the ground running as expected.

As a result of this, Chelsea need a new striker and have been linked with a move for experienced Brentford centre-forward Ivan Toney when the transfer window opens in January.

The 27-year-old England International, who joined Premier League side Brentford football club five years ago has been an important member of the first-team squad over the previous seasons.

The experienced striker showed his goalscoring abilities during the 2022/2023 season where he scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 35 appearances for Brentford football club.

Ivan Toney is however yet to play any competitive match for Brentford this season following his suspension from football activities after he was found guilty of breaching the English FA rules regarding betting.

Ivan Toney is now expected to finish serving his ban in January and according to reports from Transfer News Live, Chelsea football club are already making moves to lure him away from Brentford.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are really desperate to sign Ivan Toney and are preparing a big-money offer to bring the experienced striker to the Stamford Bridge next year.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants a clinical out-an-out striker who will convert a lot of chances and he has identified Ivan Toney as the right player.

But then, it remains to be seen if Chelsea football club will be able to reach an agreement with Brentford and secure the transfer of Ivan Toney when the window opens in January.
