Four Nigerian footballers who have became pastor after retirement from football activities – Taribo West, Idah Peterside, Alloysius Agu, and Chidi Nwanu. In this article we shall take a look at some former Super Eagles players that are now pastor and the name of their church after exit football.

1. Taribo West

Taribo West is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a defender for clubs like Sharks, Enugu Rangers, Julius Berger, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Derby County, as well as the Nigeria national team. He was popular for the strange hairstyles he usually made.

Following his retirement from professional football, he became a pastor and founded a church in Lagos which is known as The Shelter In The Storm Miracle Ministries Of All Nations.

 

2. Idah Peterside

Idah Peterside is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a goalkeeper for clubs like Moroka Swallows and Enyimba. He didn’t appear much at the international stage.

Following his retirement from football, Peterside, who studied Theology made the move to to go into ministry. At present, he is a pastor at a South-African based church known as Christ Ambassadors Church.

3. Alloysius Agu

Alloysius Agu is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a goalkeeper for clubs like ACB Lagos, MVV Maastricht and Kayserispor, as well as the Nigeria national team.

Following his retirement from professional football, he made the bold move to become a pastor.

 

4. Chidi Nwanu

Chidi Nwanu is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a defender for clubs like Enyimba, ACB Lagos and Anderlecht, as well as the Nigeria national team.

Just like the others mentioned above, Chidi too is a pastor at a US-based church known as The Prophetic and Deliverance Ministry.
