Here is the full list of UEFA Awards winners for this year 2021 which took place during the Champions League group stage draw in Istanbul.
UEFA Men’s Player Of The Year
Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho has been named 2021/21 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.
The 29-year-old, who last season became only the tenth player to win a European Cup and a EURO in the same year, beat off competition from Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Chelsea team-mate N’Golo Kanté. The award was announced during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Istanbul.

Dortmundˈs Erling Haaland has been named Forward of the Season for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.
The 21-year-old, the competition top scorer last term, finished ahead of Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappé of Paris in the vote to become Norway and BVBˈs first recipient of a UEFA award. The prize was presented to Haaland during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony in Istanbul.

The jury comprised the following:
- 24 coaches of the teams which participated in this summer’s UEFA EURO 2020
- 80 coaches of the clubs that participated in the group stages of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League (32) and UEFA Europa League (48)
- 55 journalists selected by the European Sports Media (ESM) group, one from each of UEFA’s member associations
Jury members chose their top three players, with the first receiving five points, the second three and the third one. Coaches were not allowed to vote for players from their own team.

The French international, 30, beat off competition from Jorginho and Kevin De Bruyne after a remarkable campaign that concluded with Player of the Match performances in the semi-finals and final. The award was presented to Kanté during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony in Istanbul.

The Portuguese centre-back, outstanding in his first season in England, beat off competition from Chelsea pair César Azpilicueta and Antonio Rüdiger. The award was presented to the 24-year-old during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw ceremony in Istanbul.

UEFA Best Goalkeeper of the Year
Edouard Mendy has won the ‘Best African International’ award at the Ghana Football Awards, it has been confirmed.
The 29-year-old had quite the season during the 2020/21 campaign. He joined Chelsea from Stade Rennes last summer and went onto become a Champions League winner in his first season.
He went onto make 44 appearances for the Blues in all competition, keeping 25 clean sheets and conceding just 29 goals.
Mendy played a pivotal part in Chelsea clinching top four via the Premier League as well as the Blues’ triumph in Porto in May to lift the European Cup.
Now he won the ‘Best African International’ award at the 2021 Ghana Football Awards to cap off his perfect first year in England.

“I’m happy and grateful to receive this award. It has been an incredible year for me and winning the Champions League is one of the best achievements of my life.”
Mendy will return to pre-season training at Cobham next week as Chelsea gear up for the 2021/22 season.
UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year
Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel has been named UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year for 2020/21.
Tuchel beat off competition from Roberto Mancini and Josep Guardiola to become the second German winner after Hansi Flick claimed the inaugural award for 2019/20. The prize winner was announced during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Istanbul.
Why did Tuchel win the award?
Tuchel orchestrated a sensational turnaround at Chelsea after replacing Frank Lampard on 26 January, leading the west London side to their second UEFA Champions League title. He also became the first coach to reach successive finals with different clubs, having been a runner-up with Paris Saint-Germain in 2019/20.
What is the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year award?
For this award, coaches in Europe, irrespective of nationality, have been judged in regard to their performances over the whole season in all competitions – both domestically and internationally – at either club, or national team level.
