Mikel Arteta is busy with the summer transfer window to bolster Arsenal squad ahead the start of 2021/22 premier league season, he has linked with some iconic players in the Europe in the view to bring them to the Emirates.
The big news coming out of Arsenal yesterday evening was that a first major signing of the summer doesn’t look too far away. The Gunners are set to complete the signing of Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion with the two clubs close to agreeing a £50million deal.
Arsenal had an initial bid of £40m rejected by the Seagulls, but that didn’t put them off in their chase, and a statement addition looks like it could be on its way.
Aside from White, the summer looks set to be extremely busy for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal with a whole host of both incomings and outgoings expected.
Camavinga move favoured
Arsenal reportedly favour a move for Eduardo Camavinga over Lyon star Houssem Aouar.
Aouar has long been one of the Gunners’ targets, with Lyon prepared to sell the midfielder this summer.
But Le10Sport report that Camavinga has moved ahead of Aouar on Mikel Arteta’s shopping list, though they also state that the Rennes star could cost £23million more than the Lyon man.
Isak talks ‘opened’
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, who is currently impressing for Sweden at Euro 2020.
The Gunners are in the market for a new striker as they look to improve their attacking options.
Isak has emerged as one of their top targets, with AS reporting that they have now ‘spoken’ to his representatives and are willing to pay his £60million release fee.
Diawara swap deal
Arsenal look set to lose Granit Xhaka to Roma this summer – but they could land a player in return.
According to Il Romanista, Xhaka has given Roma the green light to move but the Italian club are struggling to meet Arsenal’s €23m and €25m demands.
With Roma director Tiago Pinto seems ‘inflexible’ to offer over €15m, the key could be the inclusion of a player, and a solution would be Amadou Diawara, the 23-year-old Guinea international.
Locatelli offer
Arsenal have made an offer for Manuel Locatelli, according to reports in Italy.
Locatelli has emerged as a star performer for Italy at Euro 2020 and has been widely tipped to move to Juventus.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners have put an offer in for the youngster but face an uphill task with competition from a host of clubs.
After reports in Italy emerged that Arsenal had made an offer for Manuel Locatelli, supporters have made a plea for the club to sign him.
Mikel Arteta is searching for at least two midfield recruits and it appears that the Sassuolo star is one of their top targets, to the joy of fans.
“We need someone Just like prime Ramsay. Locatelli should be really a good choice,” one fan tweeted.
“Don’t sign Bissouma please. We don’t need him or his profile. Get someone like Locatelli instead,” another added.
