Chelsea to finalises Kai Havertz transfer deal before deadline

Chelsea are reportedly looking to finalise a deal for highly-rated creative midfielder Kai Havertz within the next 10 days in oder to avoid the possibility of missing out on the German star.

The Bundesliga side Leverkusen are due to return to pre-season training on August 28 and the west London club are keen to complete the signing of their top transfer target before then.

The Blues are currently overhauling their squad ahead of next campaign and have already secured the signed of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to bolster their attacking options.

But Frank Lampard still keen to adds Kai Havertz, who scored 18 goals and provided nine assists across all competitions last term to his attacking options next season.

The 21-year-old versatile attacker is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and is thought to have been pushing to sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

With Kai Havertz convinced about a move, Blues director Marina Granovskaia has supposedly been locked in negotiations with Leverkusen over a transfer fee for the highly-rated youngster.

The Bundesliga side want £90million for their prized asset, but Chelsea value the 21-year-old nearer £70million.

Transfer talks have been taking place for the past week or so, with discussions supposedly accelerating once the Bundesliga club were knocked out of the Europa League.

And according to reports from Germany, claims the Blues are desperate to get a deal over the line in the near future to avoid any unexpected complications.

The German Newspaper BILD, claims the Bundesliga side are expecting Chelsea to submit a written offer for Kai Havertz soon, with the Premier League club needing to snap him up as quickly as possible.

It adds that Frank Lampard has a unique chance to sign their priority target this summer, with the Blues in pole position due to their rivals financial constraints.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both interested in signing the 21-year-old midfielder but cannot afford to pay £90m on a new signing right now.

The European giants will return for Kai Havertz next summer if he remains at Leverkusen, making it imperative that Chelsea get the job done quickly.

The Stamford Bridge side are reportedly pushing for an agreement before Leverkusen return to pre-season training in less than a fortnight.
