Chelsea Welcome Hakim Ziyech and Train At Cobham

Chelsea FC has officially welcome Hakim Ziyech to Stamford Bridge to join Blues’ squad, as he resumes training at the Cobham today, Chelsea FC has finally welcomed their new signing Ziyech

One of the Blues’ two big summer signings officially started his contract with the west London outfit on July 1, 2020, but will not be allowed to feature during the remainder of the delayed 2019/20 season.

And despite officially becoming a Chelsea player at the beginning of the month, it was revealed by head coach Frank Lampard that Ziyech as well as Timo Werner had yet to arrive in the UK.

“They haven’t arrived. As the whole country is waiting on quarantine news we’re also waiting on quarantine news, and we want to make sure the players can travel, move around and work as we’ll need them to,” Lampard revealed in his pre-Watford press conference last weekend.

“Timo Werner has only finished recently, so he’s having a well-deserved break and will come back later on in July.

“Ziyech will come here earlier than that, but we need to wait on the quarantine news before we can be clearer on that.”

That update from Lampard was spot on as while Werner posted an image of himself on holiday earlier in the week, Ziyech has landed in the UK.

Lampard has already revealed his training plans for both Ziyech and Werner.

Yes, that will be up to how we arrange the plan,” Lampard revealed in his pre-West Ham United press conference. “The first issue is how we finish the season, that’s absolutely what we are focused on and my main focus.

“In terms of the two players, individually, we need to make sure they arrive with good fitness and freshness levels for next season.

“It will be a longer break than the players we already have in our squad so I will take that into account.

“When I feel it is the right time to bring them in and around the squad during this season, I can do that.

“If not, the absolute priority is making sure they are ready for the next.”
