Nigeria Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has rejected the transfer offer from the European giants Paris Saint-Germain after the 23-year-old revealed that “he still has a contract with Leicester, and he is learning and trying to improve himself every day.
The Score Nigeria learnt that Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi rejected PSG transfer offer says “I am doing OK here, so no need to go anywhere” the European giants in serious talk with Leicester after they were named as French Ligue 1 Champions, but the 23-year-old Super Eagles midfielder has clear that his contract with the club has not yet expired and no need go to anywhere due to coronavirus pandemic.
PSG are interested in signing the Nigeria international, according to ESPN.
The French club is reportedly looking to add a central midfielder to their squad in the summer transfer window.
Ndidi is apparently one option, along with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Tiemoue Bakayoko of Monaco.
The 23-year-old Foxes ace – who has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal – is said to be valued at around £45-50million.
“Despite recently bringing in two central midfielders in Idrissa Gueye last summer for £30m from Everton and Leandro Paredes the previous January for £36m from Zenit, the Parisians still feel they need a strong and aggressive holding midfielder which neither the Senegal nor Argentina internationals are,” says ESPN.
“Ndidi ticks all the boxes and (PSG sporting director) Leonardo could soon accelerate on their interest.”
Ndidi has been highly impressive since joining Leicester from Genk for £15million in 2017.
He still has four years left to run on his current contract and recently played down speculation linking him with a move away from the King Power Stadium.
“We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here,” he said.
“I still have a contract with Leicester. I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing OK here, so no need to go anywhere.”
PSG was this week crowned Ligue 1 champions after the French football season was brought to a premature end due to the coronavirus pandemic.
They had been 12 points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand, when the campaign was suspended indefinitely last month.
