The Chief Medic said that football chiefs should see the COVID19 pandemic as a ‘life and death’ situation and therefore should shift all football activities till August for players spitting on the football pitch could rise a second deadly wave of the virus.
Michael Hooghe’s warning comes right after France took their decision similar to Belgium and Holland canceling the remainder of the 2019-20 football season with no football until August.
Meanwhile, the German league has made plans to get the season going on May 9th, subjecting to the approval from the federal government and state health authorities.
However, the Germany league is not alone in its efforts to restart football as soon as possible for the English Premier League side is also working towards trying to conclude the 2019-20 season come June and July.
The FIFA’s chief Medic shows great concern for players on a football field, for they would not be able to comply with these rules in regards to showering together, spitting on the ground, and changing jerseys could spread the virus.
