Chelsea has made a bid to sign Philippe Coutinho who was loaned to Bayern Munich from Barcelona, according to the transfer rumors that Blues is set to sign the 27-year-old winger.
Coutinho is expected to walk away from the Nou Camp this summer.
The Brazilian is said to be pining for a return to the Premier League, having failed to make an impact since his 2018 move from Liverpool.
Alberto Yaque claims the Blues are among a handful of top clubs who are interested in signing the Argentine forward.
The 22-year-old has a £97.5million buy-out clause in the five-year contract he signed when he arrived at the San Siro in a £20million deal from Racing Club in 2018.
And Yaque said: “The truth is that apart from Barcelona, I received calls from Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
“There is nothing official at the moment because Lautaro is very good at Inter.”
One of the key areas that Frank Lampard will be hoping to strengthen over the summer at Chelsea will be in the attacking areas.
It was somewhere that the Blues boss wanted to improve in the January transfer window, however, the board failed to bring in anyone.
This summer could be different, however, as if the Blues really want to compete once again for a Premier League title, then they need to have more firepower.
Philippe Coutinho’s agent gives Chelsea hope
Philippe Coutinho’s agent has admitted that his client would be open to a return to the Premier League in the future.
The Brazilian left Liverpool in 2018 for Barcelona, however, it hasn’t really worked out for the forward.
He has been on a season-long loan at Bayern Munich, but the German side is not expected to take up their option to sign him on a permanent basis.
It leaves the 27-year-old with an uncertain future, while there has been a lot of talk about whether he will return to England for next season.
